Join United Way of Greater Kansas City for a day of impact. CommUNITY Fest, presented by Delta Air Lines, is a reimagined Day of Caring that harnesses the power of volunteers to advocate, volunteer and celebrate impact in our community. Volunteers will have the opportunity to meet and interact with more than 50 nonprofit partners.
When registering for CommUNITY Fest presented by Delta Air Lines, you can choose to stay onsite at Zhou B Arts Center and learn more about advocacy, network with nonprofit partners and participate in onsite volunteer activities like bracelet making and kit packing. If you choose to volunteer at one of our nonprofit partners, you will meet at Zhou B Arts Center and take a bus to your nonprofit location. All volunteers will start the day and end the day together at Zhou B Arts Center to celebrate making a positive difference in Kansas City.
CommUNITY Fest presented by Delta Air Lines is free to attend and open to all members of our community, regardless of affiliation to United Way. We look forward to volunteering with you on September 12th! If you have any questions, please send an email to marketing@uwgkc.org.

11:30 am: Buses leave volunteer sites to return to Zhou B Arts Center

Volunteer and Participate in Advocacy Activities Onsite
Volunteers will stay onsite at Zhou B Arts Center and have the opportunity to participate in different sessions, volunteer activities and more. If you select this opportunity, you will NOT go on a bus to a nonprofit location.

Volunteers will assist customers visiting the ReStore, arrange the sales floor and sort and price donations.

Volunteer at Community LINC
Volunteers will prepare a transitional-housing unit (apartment) for a new family to move in. Community LINC provides apartments rent-and-utility-free to homeless families. Volunteers will assist staff in cleaning, decorating, staging, and otherwise prepping an apartment for a new family to move into.

Volunteer at Jewish Vocational Service
JVS clients are welcome to shop in the JVS clothing closet for clothing, shoes and children’s toys. Volunteers will be organizing the clothing closet, tidying and welcoming by sorting donations that JVS receives.
